UK: Blue Coast Capital and developer HUB are partnering to deliver a brace of coliving schemes in London.

The first scheme, St Olav’s Court in Southwark will deliver 240 homes across coliving and affordable tenures, alongside shared on-site amenities and a community café.

The second scheme at Fleet St Hill, near Shoreditch, will deliver 245 homes, including coliving and social rent affordable homes. Designed and delivered by Morris & Company, it features new community amenity and public realm enhancements including biodiverse planting, lighting, public art and a new pedestrian route that will improve connectivity to Allen Gardens and Brick Lane.

Damien Sharkey, managing director of HUB, said: “It is crucial for us to work with like-minded partners whose strengths complement our own. This partnership with Blue Coast Capital reflects a shared approach to delivering urban regeneration through the creation of high quality, living-led developments. These schemes are a welcome addition to our rapidly growing co-living pipeline, which already spans several London boroughs. As we take each project forward through detailed design, Gateway 2, construction and into operation, our focus is not just on delivering homes, but on shaping new pockets of neighbourhoods that deliver benefit for the wider community.”

John Stacey, COO of Blue Coast Capital, added: “London continues to face a significant shortage of high quality, well-located homes, and these two schemes represent exactly the type of living-led regeneration we want to support. Working with HUB allows us to combine long-term capital with specialist delivery expertise to bring forward thoughtfully designed developments that respond to local demand, improve connectivity and create lasting benefits for the surrounding communities.”

Blue Coast was set up in 1980 by the Lewis family, which founded the River Island and Chelsea Girl retail brands. It invests in real estate, private equity and hospitality, with a focus on development in real estate.
