UK: Folk Co-Living has announced plans to open its fourth London property at Brent Cross Town, marking the first co-living development within the £8 billion regeneration project.
The new development, Folk Brent Cross, will provide 352 studio apartments and shared facilities to support community living. These will feature work spaces, a wellness spa, rooftop residents’ kitchen and indoor and outdoor social areas.
The development will be part of Brent Cross Town’s new intergenerational neighbourhood, and is within three minutes of Brent Cross West Station. The masterplan will provide for 6,700 homes with a mix of build to rent, affordable and student accommodation and later living provision.
Louis Cobben, director of living strategies at DTZ Investors, said: “Brent Cross Town is a fantastic location for co-living, and we see strong investor appetite for the asset class, proving that co-living is becoming an essential part of the residential ecosystem.”
This project is being financed by DTZ Investors’ Folk Co-Living Fund and developed with collaboration between Halcyon Development Partners. It is the fourth partnership between the two companies, building on three existing Folk developments in London, such as the RIBA award winning Sunday Mills in Earlsfield.
Assael Architecture has designed the new building, which will incorporate feedback from current folk residents to influence the design and communal areas.
