UK: Built environment consultancy Ridge has appointed Andrew Stanford as a partner to establish and lead its new living-sector transactions and strategic advisory offer.
Stanford joins the company’s London property consultancy team with more than 30 years of experience across residential investment, capital markets, asset management, policy and consultancy.
He previously held senior positions at Deloitte, Colliers and LaSalle Investment Management. In 2013, he was appointed to lead the UK government’s Private Rented Sector Taskforce, which supported the development of the institutional build-to-rent market.
At Ridge, Stanford will advise investors, developers and housing providers on transactions, investment strategy, portfolio performance and the long-term management of residential assets.
His remit will cover build-to-rent, purpose-built student accommodation, co-living, senior living and affordable housing.
Stanford said: “The challenge now is creating the confidence and conditions needed to attract investment and unlock development, while also ensuring that existing assets continue to perform.”
Mark Astbury, property consultancy lead at Ridge, said the appointment would combine investment and transactional advice with the company’s existing technical and project delivery capabilities.
